Haiti Ascent Stage Race
30 January – 2 February 2013

The Haiti Ascent Stage Race combines a once-in-a-lifetime cultural immersion experience with the opportunity to build the foundation for a sustainable adventure tourism industry while racing an insanely challenging course thru some of the most rugged and awe-inspiring terrain in the western hemisphere.

Hati Ascent begins with two days of IMBA-supervised “ecosystem-building” activites that every participant must complete. Riders will combine the fulfillment of developing a biking infrastructure in Stages 1 and 2 with the adrenaline rush of racing in Stages 3 and 4.

Stage 3 is the first day of riding, and starts at the site of the National Palace in central Port-au-Prince.  Riders will endure a 35 mile mountain stage with a 5'200 foot initial ascent and nearly 9,000 vertical feet of climbing to reach a lush national forest.

Stage 4 rewards the riders with approx 25 miles of technical single track through the forest and rock formations of La Visit National Park, followed by a 10 mile, 6,000 foot technical descent to the coast line.  Racers will sprint along the coast for the final 5-7 miles into the finish in Jacmel.

This is a unique opportunity to experience natural and cultural aspects of Haiti virtually unknown to foreigners.

Registration Fee includes all costs on the ground (lodging, meals, transportation, medical and course support, nightly entertainment, and Carnival festivities). The only additional costs will be airfare to/from Haiti.  Special flight arrangements are in the works, and we will send info to registered riders, so do *not* book travel until notified.

Strictly limited to 75 racers - Register now!
